RECEPTION
Our Reception offer is outstanding; every day is an adventure. Our reception classroom is inviting and stimulating, with the curriculum focusing on child initiated learning. Hertfordshire County Council is responsible for the allocation of places in the Reception class. The appropriate information and forms are sent directly to parents who are registered with local doctors. Prospective parents are encouraged to visit the school. Please telephone in advance to make an appointment, and we will be delighted to show you around and answer any questions.

SCHOOL APPEALS AND REVIEWS - Important Information/Reminders
Hertfordshire County Council issue updated information/reminders regarding school appeals and reviews. All parents will need to set up an appeals account in order to appeal. The online appeals portal is the same for all parents and can be found here.
In Year appeals Appeals resulting from in-year admission applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
September 2027 entry
The last date to register an appeal is by 4pm on 17 May 2027.
Appeals for admission in September 2027 will be heard between 10 June and 19 July 2027.
Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, which ever is the later date.
Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear working days in advance of the hearing.
Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case 7 working days in advance of the hearing.
If an appellant wishes to any supporting evidence after lodging an appeal, they will need to get that to the Appeals Team at least 7 working days before your hearing, (not counting the day of postage or the hearing date).
Beech Hyde Primary School and Nursery is a feeder primary school for St Albans Girls’ School (STAGS), and Verulam School, both excellent St Albans secondary schools within the Ambition Education Trust.
